In late September, I clean knocked out half-a-tooth (don’t ask how this is even possible) then boarded a plane to Switzerland (for a brief layover/gig at Kazerne celebrating the 10th anniversary of Michi Zaugg’s stellar Plattfon shop) before continuing to Lisbon for one of the most creatively fruitful/rewarding weeks of my life, working within a quartet-formation w/ Sofia “Clothilde” Mestre, Simão Simões, & André Gonçalves.
This project was curated by the team at OUT.Fest in Barreiro (where we gave the debut performance at the local library) working in tandem with OUT.RA & Red Bull, who graciously underwrote an entire week of recording & rehearsals at ADDAC System in Olaias, with the caveat that a film crew would be following us around for the duration in order to make a documentary about the project.
Thrilled to be able to present this lovely, short (~20m) film made by Mário J. Negrão (along with Patrícia Monteiro, José Bica, & Carlos Nascimento) featuring interviews with Rui Miguel Abreu:
