Blank Forms Fundraiser (Mixtape)
Alongside Naima Karlsson, Graham Lambkin, and Blank Forms’ Lawrence Kumpf, I made a mixtape (both in the assemblage sense, but also physically via ASNYC’s duplication apparatus, as pictured above) to be used as something of a fundraising McGuffin for their Membership Drive to support their ongoing editorial & curatorial programming.
I’ve known Lawrence ever since I was booked to perform at an Eliane Radigue tribute concert back in 2010 at Issue Project Room (a lo-fi room recording of which makes up the first side of the “Generators” LP on Editions Mego; hanging out with & doing a radio-interview w/ Eliane was a life-highlight) & that he and his dedicated staff have been laying waste to the archival Art & Music worlds has been an incredible thing to witness from up close, right here in the neighborhood. I urge you to consider a Membership as it will entitle you to both discounted/free event entry and access to their publications on day one.
(update: the tape itself is long gone, so here’s an echo of its contents, below; this was essentially an attempt to yield an “Endless” mix, where the given LP simply does not stop playing after the intended track finished & the next one(s) arrived, slowly creating a morass of overlapping sensibilites that I feel captures my Pandemic-era mentality & listening habits quite well!)
