This did not go as planned; a mixture of potent factors (COVID, and other health concerns, mainly) led to the cancellation of the entire trip a few days out. My deepest apologies to everyone that was looking forward to these two performances; I hope to reschedule a return to Europe in the Spring.
Everything’s coming up roses at the moment; in addition to the successful launch of the Japanese Nakid-label LP reissue campaign (the first two of which are completely sold out; thanks everyone!) I’ve accepted invitations to stage a 20th Anniversary performance of “Playthroughs” at the new E-Flux space here in Clinton Hill, and then to perform a new suite of Computer & Synthesizer music at two separate prestigious European festivals happening exactly a week apart in November: FAQ (s-Hertogenbosch) & Mira (Barcelona).
The former will mark the first time I’ve performed the Playthroughs frameworks in several years (the last was the “Silent Night #20” concert in Prague 3 years or so back) & the latter the first time I’ve stepped foot outside of the US in the same timeframe, marking three years of hunkering down & refining a series of new musical approaches here in New York City. I’m excited to share this current setup of embedded computers clashing with each other inna nested loop of A/D-D/A conversions, which borrows from the Playthroughs, Generators, & Redactions frameworks (with a bit of “Late Hrvatski” & “Disingenuity” thrown in for good measure) in a grand unifying gesture that feels true to my current headspace of rampant revisionism & remodeling.
The lineups for both of the festivals are truly great; very excited not just to perform again, but to be within the convivial energies of the festival circuit once again. Note that I have a small area of availability right in the middle, interested parties (esp. those in between Holland & Spain) please get in touch; have synth, computer, will travel.
