At the just-past halfway point in 2026, I’d like to take a moment to express my extreme gratitude towards everyone that has helped in reaching my stride again w/r/t traveling to play music & keeping active here in NYC. 14 concerts, 7 radio shows, 2 podcasts, and an epic overnight DJ set under the belt so far this year & somehow the spirit remains undaunted. Special Request Shoutout to Joe Frivaldi & Rob Mayson of Pianos / Stereo Mandrax / Abasement, Chuck Bettis, Marcia Bassett, Ted Gordon, Julia Govor, Thorsten Sideboard, Tom Hall, Joshua Eustis, Jon Leidecker, Bryan Kasenic, Mike Clemow, Carlos Giffoni, Chris Goudreau, Mike Haley, & Michael Bernstein for being incredible people & pillars of the scene!

After much experimentation & reconfiguring, current performance practice has solidified into two discrete modes / concepts:

On one hand is the renewed interest in presenting cybernetic-lineage “Live” Electronic Music on a series of portable patch-cable modular systems that incorporate DNA from the “Generators“, “Occlusions“, & “Acid Causality” frameworks while continuning to push forward stylistically, yielding something much closer to Free Jazz than Dance Music (all while using the familiar bulding blocks of said: Drum Machine PCM data, Wavetables, Supersaws, Digital Multi-Operator FM, Spectral Transfer Processing, Delay Lines that range between Karplus Strong & minutes long.) These stagings have been going incredibly well, and feel equally at home in both dedicated art/sound spaces and jazz, rock, noise, & metal clubs. The videos above cover a fairly representative performance at Roulette, then a talk around this particular system at Gray Area, respectively.

On the other I have been taking on residencies to record elements on acoustic, electric, & “Period” electronic instruments, then treating novel combinations of these as raw material for a series of scalable multi-channel diffusions that hinge on both the “Redactions” & “Multiples” languages. For these, I’m centering a contemporary system developed at the INA-GRM to essentially improvise Electro-Acoustic Music, incorporating an extensive set of real-time spatialization & processing tools mapped to tactile controllers which allow me to express the exact Tape-Music & Musique Concrète modalities I’ve been obsessed with going on 40 years. The videos above cover a recent 5-Channel (Quint? Pent?) performance at Tonal Park, then a set at a monthly experimental music series at the Newark Bike Project the night before.
