Glad to finally be able to announce this Japanese/British vinyl campaign (in the works since September 2020) curated by Hino Koshiro (aka YPY & member of the band Goat) for his label Nakid (thus far home to a fantastic pair of releases by Mark Fell & Will Guthrie) as manufactured & disseminated by the Boomkat crew.
Originally slated as a 3LP set, this has been broken up into a trilogy of individual LP releases, with a selection of recent “Generators” (recorded & mixed all in one day at INA-GRM in Paris) & “Redactions” (ditto; incidentally the first appearance of said on a mass-market release) along with a live LP covering a seamless meld of both approaches captured at the Meakusma festival.
These are lavish editions, featuring artwork by Contemporary Japanese Artist Iseo Nose (incredible dot-gain blow-ups of nature scenes as detailed above; completely apropos of the often unresolving patterns evident in the music) laid out & designed by Takashi Makabe, mastered for vinyl by Rashad Becker then cut by Andreas “Lupo” Lubitch, & meticulously printed & pressed by Handle With Care for maximum effect. These are the first mass-market releases since the Generators & Occlusions run for Editions Mego a decade back; a huge deal for me personally & a great harbinger of things going forward.
“GRM [Generators]” (NKD03), “GRM [Redactions]” (NKD04), & “MEAKUSMA [Generators]” (NKD05) are out now. In addition to Boomkat’s internal mailorder (note that NKD03 & NKD04 have already sold out at the source!) copies should be available from the following shops:
