I haven’t worked (directly) with a label in some time; of course there’s a lifetime of physical media to be had via kranky, Planet-µ, Editions Mego, PAN, Locust, Carpark, Shelter Press, Amethyst Sunset, NNA Tapes, Dekorder, etc. but other than the 3-LP program Hino put together for Nakid a few years back, I’ve largely been either making my own “Private Editions” or simply forgoing the tangible in favor of a stream of “Works-In-Progress” launched with accelerating frequency via Bandcamp.

After working in the trenches of the Independent Label & Distribution system (first as Sales Manager of Forced Exposure from 1998-2002, running Reckankreuzungsklankewerzeuge, entschuldigen, no, Industrial Abbotsford, Protracted View, Hi-Res AUDIO, etc… then helming Mimaroglu Music/Sales, Broken-Music, and now Alpha State NYC) I’d long held a somewhat adversarial attitude towards the platform (it essentially eradicates many of the services that labels, distributors, & record stores provide) but I’ve since made peace after a pandemic-era experiment in offering a series of bespoke cassette & digital releases revealed its strengths.

I recommend sorting the $30/year Bandcamp Subscription, which grants immediate access to everything I post; the steady trickle of resources this creates goes a long way towards supporting my creative endeavours & other than revenue from performing, studio/production work, & the occasional sync/license, this constitutes the majority of my income from music:
